四月结束之前还是要再读一下 Waste Land, and in case people do not know this 我买了那本 The Waste Land: A Facsimile & Transcript of the Original Drafts including the Annotations of Ezra Pound, 以下是我的 hot take

1. 原来的开头真烂,哦不,真好笑,好笑到我要附一张图(见图
2. Poetry needs to sound nice
3. 'Terrible City' is truly terrible
4. Vivien Eliot is a very, very good reader and she has wisdom
5. Eliot's couplets sound so lazy. 虽然我不喜欢 Pope, 但不得不承认 Pope 不好学。Also: It's funny how I enjoy Eliot and Pope in very similar ways. Well. At least when I still enjoyed Pope.
6. Pound is discerning. Pound is often right about poetry. I need to read Pound.
7. Writing is a labour. 看他的 work process 很有意思因为他一开始也不知道要写什么,风格也不稳定,at the end of the day eventually it's 多写多改。idk but I have read elsewhere about some poets not working in this way, which surprised me, but now this is reassuring because that's also how I work with my writing...

@aglarien
摘一下 note 7:
Words by Hamilton Aide, music by Stephen Adams: "... Do not forget me! Do not forget me! Think sometimes of me still, When the morn breaks, and the throstle awakes, Remember the maid of the mill!..."
一个北美的歌,所以并不 early modern :((
